Harley Davidson Golf Carts

The history of Golf Carts dates back to early 1950s. Evidences of using the Golf Carts during the 1951-52 periods have been located. Merle Williams was an early pioneer who helped to open up a new line of research and manufacturing of electric Golf Cart. Merle Williams started working with the creation of Golf Cart. He has immense knowledge in the field of electric car production, learned during the Second World War. In 1951, the marketer company of Merle Williams began their production of electric Golf Cart in Redlands, California. Two more companies, ‘E-Z-GO’ and ‘LEKTRO’ started producing electric Golf Carts in 1954. This prompted many other companies to produce electric Golf Carts. In 1955, Cushman started its production. It was followed by Club Car in 1958, Taylor-Dunn in 1961 and Harley-Davidson in 1963. The gas driven Golf Carts was produced for the first time in 1971. It turned out to be a huge hit later.
